Opening your Seedling Studio file 📂

If you've ever opened a photo on your computer, you can use Seedling Studio. When you buy Seedling Studio (or download the free version's offline file), you'll receive one small file. Here's exactly what to do with it — no tech experience required.

💡 First, what is an HTML file?

An HTML file is just a regular file on your computer — like a photo or a document — except when you double-click it, it opens up inside your web browser (Safari, Chrome, Firefox, or Edge) as a complete little app. You don't need to install anything. You don't need an internet connection once you have it. It just works.

1
⬇️

Download the file

After your purchase, Gumroad sends an email with a download link. Click it. The file saves to your computer's Downloads folder — same place photos and other files go.

2
🖱️

Double-click the file

Find the file in your Downloads folder. It's called something like seedling-studio.html. Double-click it — just like opening a photo. Seedling Studio will open up inside your web browser.

3
🌱

Start designing!

That's it — you're in. Make patterns, save projects, explore palettes. Bookmark the page in your browser so it's one click away whenever you want to come back.

🤗 If you get stuck, that's okay

If anything feels confusing — the file doesn't open, you can't find it after downloading, or you're not sure if it's working — please email me. I'm a real person, not a corporate help desk, and I'm happy to walk you through it. Seedling Studio is for everyone, and I want you to actually get to use the thing you bought.

Why offer it as a file at all? 💛

I built Seedling Studio this way on purpose. The online version is great for quick designing on your phone, but the downloadable file is something special:

It works completely offline — perfect for road trips, retreats, cabins, the back porch, anywhere your internet is spotty or absent. It keeps working forever — no subscription, no surprise outages, no service that disappears when a company shuts down. It belongs to you — once it's on your computer, it's yours to keep and use as long as you have a working browser.

Art is for everyone. Tools for making art should be just as accessible. That's why this exists.

One small ask: Seedling Studio is the work of one independent artist (hi, that's me 👋). Please don't share, copy, or resell your file. If a friend would love it too, send them the purchase link — every $7 directly supports the next round of features and tools. Thank you.

A real artist, for real creators 🌄

Hi, I'm Cate — a visual artist, photographer, and lifelong beader based in Crestone, Colorado, deep in the San Luis Valley. I've been beading for years and built Seedling because I wanted a tool I actually wished existed: something beautiful, approachable, and genuinely helpful for anyone who loves working with beads.

Seedling is part of my Bridged by Design Studios family — creative tools and resources built to help makers of all kinds do their best work.

Good to know 💬

Does Seedling work on Android, or just Apple devices?
Seedling works on both! It's a browser-based app — so it runs on iPhone, iPad, Android phones & tablets, Mac, Windows, and Linux. Anything with a modern browser (Safari, Chrome, Firefox, Edge) will work. There's also a downloadable HTML file you can save and use completely offline on any desktop.
I just bought Seedling Studio — what do I do with the file? 📂
It's easier than it sounds, promise! Three steps: (1) Click the download link Gumroad sends you — the file saves to your Downloads folder. (2) Double-click the file (it's called something like seedling-studio.html) — it'll open up inside your web browser like a photo would. (3) Bookmark the page so you can find it easily next time! If anything feels confusing, see the full step-by-step section or email me directly — I'm happy to help.
Why is it offered as a file? Isn't an online app easier? 💛
Both have their place. The online version is great for quick designing on your phone. But the downloadable file works completely offline — perfect for road trips, cabins, retreats, anywhere with spotty internet. It also keeps working forever — no subscription, nothing to expire. Once you have the file, it's yours to use as long as you have a working browser. That's accessibility I really care about.
Do I need any experience to use Seedling?
Not at all! Seedling is designed to be welcoming for complete beginners. The interface is visual and intuitive — if you can tap and drag, you can design. The built-in reference library also helps you learn as you go.
Is the free version really free?
Yes, completely free with no time limits. Seedling (the free version) gives you the core design tools and reference library forever. No credit card, no trial period — just download and create.
What's the difference between Seedling and Seedling Studio?
Seedling gives you everything you need to start. Seedling Studio unlocks the full toolkit — mirror symmetry for earring pairs, unlimited project saves, the full color palette builder, advanced grid tools, and export features. It's for when you're ready to go deeper.
Is this good for kids?
Absolutely! Seedling was designed to be approachable for all ages. The colorful, visual interface is easy for kids to understand, and it's a wonderful creative activity for families to enjoy together.
What is colorblind-friendly mode?
Colorblind-friendly mode is a Seedling Studio feature — it includes accessible color palettes and visual indicators designed for people with color vision differences. We believe creative tools should be for everyone, and this is one of the reasons to upgrade to Studio.
Who made this?
Seedling was created by Cate, a visual artist and beader based in Crestone, Colorado. It's part of the Bridged by Design Studios family of creative tools. When you support Seedling Studio, you're directly supporting an independent working artist.

We'd love to hear from you 💌

The gist: Seedling is a free, browser-based bead and jewelry design tool made by Cate (Caitlin Jimenez) under Bridged by Design Studios. It runs entirely in your browser — nothing you make is collected, stored, or seen by anyone else. Use it freely for personal and commercial projects. Just don't try to resell the app itself or pass it off as your own. That's really it.
1. Who's behind this

Seedling is built and operated by Caitlin Jimenez, doing business as Bridged by Design Studios, based in Crestone, Colorado. When this document says "I," "me," or "we," that's who's meant. When it says "you," that's the person using the app.

2. What the app is

Seedling is a free, browser-based design tool for planning bead and jewelry projects. It runs entirely in your web browser. Nothing you create is uploaded, stored on a server, or transmitted anywhere — your designs live on your device only. If you clear your browser data or switch devices, your work doesn't follow you. Save your designs locally if you want to keep them.

3. What it costs

Nothing. Seedling is free to use. A paid version (Seedling Studio) with additional features is offered separately under its own terms.

4. What you can do with it

Use it for personal projects. Use it for commercial projects — designs you sell, patterns you publish, jewelry you make for clients. Anything you create with the tool belongs to you. I claim no ownership over your designs, patterns, or output.

5. What you can't do

Don't copy, repackage, redistribute, or resell the app itself. Don't strip out my branding and present the tool as your own. Don't reverse-engineer it to clone it. The underlying code, design, and concept of Seedling belong to me.

6. No promises about how it works

I built this tool with care, but it's offered "as is." I can't guarantee it'll work perfectly on every browser, every device, or forever. Browsers update, the web changes, and free tools sometimes break. I'm not responsible for lost designs, missed deadlines, or any other consequence of the tool not working the way you hoped. Save your work often.

7. Privacy

The app collects nothing. It transmits nothing. There are no accounts, no cookies tracking your behavior, no analytics on your design choices. What you make is yours and stays on your device.

8. Changes

I might update the app or these terms occasionally. If I make meaningful changes, I'll update the date at the top.

9. Questions

Email me at [your email] — I'm a real person and I read my mail.

The gist: Seedling Studio is the paid version of Seedling. You buy it once through Gumroad and get access to expanded features — no subscription. It runs in your browser like the free version and doesn't collect your data. Designs you make are yours to use commercially. Refunds within 14 days if it doesn't work for you.
1. Who's behind this

Seedling Studio is built and operated by Caitlin Jimenez, doing business as Bridged by Design Studios, based in Crestone, Colorado.

2. What you're buying

A one-time purchase of access to Seedling Studio, the expanded version of Seedling. Purchases are processed through Gumroad (and/or Ko-fi), who handle payment, delivery, and your billing information under their own terms. I don't see your payment details.

3. How it's delivered

After purchase, you'll receive access through the platform you bought from. Seedling Studio runs in your browser, like the free version. Nothing you create is uploaded or transmitted — your designs stay on your device.

4. Your license

Your purchase gives you a personal, non-transferable license to use Seedling Studio. This means:

  • You can use it on your own devices for as many projects as you like.
  • You can use it commercially — sell the patterns, designs, and jewelry you create with it.
  • You can't share your access with others, post the tool online, or resell it.
  • You can't strip out branding, modify the underlying code, or distribute it as your own work.
5. What you create is yours

Designs, patterns, and projects you make with Seedling Studio belong to you completely. Make them, sell them, publish them — no royalties, no attribution required, no permission needed.

6. Refunds

If Seedling Studio doesn't work for you, email me within 14 days of purchase and I'll refund you. No questions, no hard feelings. After 14 days, refunds are at my discretion.

7. Updates

I may release updates and improvements over the lifetime of the tool. Your purchase includes access to those updates. If I ever release a substantially different "next version" (Seedling Studio 2.0 or similar), that may be a separate product.

8. No promises about how it works

I build my tools carefully and use them in my own practice, but Seedling Studio is offered "as is." Browsers change, devices vary, and software is imperfect. I can't guarantee uninterrupted access or compatibility with every possible setup. I'm not responsible for lost designs, missed deadlines, or other consequences of the tool not working as expected. Save your work regularly.

9. Privacy

Seedling Studio collects nothing and transmits nothing. The tool runs in your browser and your work stays on your device. Gumroad and Ko-fi handle your purchase information under their own privacy policies.

10. If I stop offering the app

If I ever discontinue Seedling Studio, I'll give existing customers reasonable notice and continue to honor access for as long as the tool functions in modern browsers. I'm a small studio, not a software company, and this is the most honest thing I can promise.

11. Changes

If I update these terms, I'll update the date above. Significant changes will be noted on the website.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, USA.

13. Questions

You're welcome to browse, share links, and quote with credit. Please don't copy photography, illustration, writing, or designs without permission. By using the site, you're agreeing to be a decent visitor.
1. About this site

bridgedbydesign.com (and any related subdomains) is operated by Caitlin Jimenez, doing business as Bridged by Design Studios, based in Crestone, Colorado. The site hosts creative work, digital products, photography, writing, retreat information, and links to apps and tools I've built.

2. By using the site

By visiting and using this site, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.

3. What's mine

All photography, illustration, writing, design, code, and original content on this site is created by me unless explicitly credited otherwise. It's protected by copyright and belongs to Bridged by Design Studios. This includes:

  • Photographs (ravens, landscapes, San Luis Valley work, client work, all of it)
  • Illustrations and original artwork (including the Seedling cactus lady)
  • Written content, including blog posts, guides, and travel writing
  • The site's design, layout, and code
  • Brand elements — name, logo, color palette, typography choices
4. What you can do
  • Browse the site freely
  • Share links to my pages on social media or in your own writing
  • Quote brief passages with credit and a link back
  • Print individual pages for your personal reference
5. What you can't do without permission
  • Use my photography or illustrations on your website, in print, in marketing, or in products

  • Replicate my site design, brand identity, or visual approach
  • Use my work to train AI models or feed into datasets
  • Resell, redistribute, or commercially exploit anything from this site

If you want to use my work — for editorial features, licensing, collaborations, or anything else — email me. I'm generally open to thoughtful requests.

6. Products, services, and apps

The site links to and offers access to digital products, apps, retreat bookings, and services. Each of these may have its own terms (the Seedling and Seedling Studio terms above, for example, or retreat booking conditions). When you purchase or sign up for something through this site, those product-specific terms apply alongside these.

7. Bookings and payments

Retreat bookings, photography bookings, and product purchases are handled through third-party platforms — Formspree for forms, Gumroad and Ko-fi for digital products, and so on. Those services have their own terms and privacy policies. I do not store your payment information.

8. Links to other sites

The site may link to other websites — collaborators, resources, recommendations. I'm not responsible for the content, accuracy, or practices of those sites. Linking doesn't imply endorsement of everything they do.

9. Privacy

I collect very little. The site uses minimal analytics to understand which pages people visit. Forms (booking inquiries, contact, newsletter signups) collect only what's needed and are processed through Formspree or similar services under their privacy policies. I don't sell your data. Ever. A separate privacy policy may be linked in the footer with more detail.

10. AI and scraping

I do not consent to my content being scraped, ingested, or used to train artificial intelligence models, large language models, or any similar systems. This applies to my photography, illustrations, writing, and design work across the site.

11. No promises about content

I share what I know in good faith — travel guides, creative resources, technical tutorials, observations about ravens. But the world changes, businesses close, trails reroute, and I'm one person. Content on this site is offered as-is, for inspiration and reference, not as professional advice. Use your own judgment.

12. Changes to these terms

I'll update these terms occasionally as the site grows. The date at the top reflects the current version.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, USA.
